Ungrieved is a creative expression born of personal loss, written shortly after the passing of a loved one.
The album explores the waves of sorrow we collectively move through, as humanity’s shared heart continuously experiences the cycles of life and death.
Throughout the music, poetic voices from films by admired director, Andrei Tarkovsky, further echo these themes. While simple instrumentation - piano, harmonium, cello, viola, along with minimal percussion & composition, create an expansive, open body of sound.
Delicate highs, and hypnotic, heavy lows carry you into soft, vulnerable spaces of connection. Immersing you in the here & now, present in the duality of existence.
I dedicate this album to my beloved Grandmother. May the ripples of music carry her spirit through the endless sea of time.
